Why our Child-Experts Love It
We love toys that help a baby learn and grow.
These large soft foam animals are the perfect size for little hands to grasp and play with! The matching letter pieces that fit into the animals are self-correcting, making it easy for your child to learn.
This adorable set is sure to help your child learn the alphabet while having fun!
Features and Skills
- By this age your child may know the name of many of the animals in the ABC zoo. This sense of confidence is a great jumping off point to teach your toddler how to recognize letters. With the letters still in the animals, review the names of the letters.
- Pop the letters out of all the animals and ask your little one to place the letter in the appropriate animal. At first he/she will just do this like a puzzle, matching the shape of the letter to the hole in the animal.
- As he/she fits these pieces in, reinforce aloud the sound that each letter makes and that the sound is in the animal’s name. For example, A is for Alligator. Soon your child will use these sounds to match the letters to the animals, not just the shapes.
- Sing your ABCs with your child. Explain to them that the letters go in order according to the song. As you sing the song a second time more slowly, make an animal parade with your child, putting the animals and letters in alphabetical order.
- As your child grows, he/she will become a more confident speller. Later on you can take the letters out of the animals and challenge your preschooler to put the animals in alphabetical order without the letters in the animals. This will encourage him/her to sound out the letter in the animal’s name in order to line them up.

Product Reviews
-
Natalie , Parent (Carmel, IN)Wish I would have kept this gift.I bought this toy for a friend's 2 year old and will most likely buy one for my son as well. It comes in a nice box with a handle so it would be good to take to the grandparents. I can't be too specific as I did not keep it but looking at it I know my son would love to play with it as he is crazy about animals and puzzles.
