Features and Skills
- Go through the colors of the tissue paper in My Tissue Art with your child and practice his/her color recognition. This paper is red. This paper is green. Which paper is yellow?
- Demonstrate for him/her how to crunch up the paper first. He/she will love the texture of the tissue in his/her little hands.
- Have your child choose a pattern and tell you what the object is. “Today I want to make a fish.”
- Your toddler can use his/her imagination to choose the colors to fill in the picture. Don’t restrict him/her to colors found in nature. Maybe his/her fish will be a rainbow.
- At first you will want to help your child by peeling back one section at a time of the picture so he/she can apply the tissue. Crumpling up the tissue and putting it on the paper develops your toddler’s fine motor skills.
- You will want to help him/her apply the wiggly eyes, since they are so small.
