Introduce your child to this Monkey Balancing Board toy by placing it next to a solid surface where your child can place their hands at waist level for stability.
Have your child get the feel of the board by holding on for support.
As far as toddler toys go, you can slowly encourage your child to let go and use their muscles for balance by setting 5 second, 10 second, etc. goals and timing them. Make a big deal each time he/she achieve these goals.
When he/she is able to maintain his/her balance for prolonged periods of time, throw a ball to him/her to catch and toss back to you. Throw it to the right, left above and below to challenge balance skills
When he/she gets really great at balancing, have him/her attempt it while standing on one leg! Be sure to supervise.
