It′s a great way to introduce your child to the world of puzzles! It has large, easy-to-fit-together pieces for small hands. When complete, it forms a picture that they will just adore, which is also a super soft playmat!

Features and Skills

• This Giant Floor Puzzle is a great first puzzle for your toddler because the pieces are large and easy to handle. Also, there are only five pieces, so your child won't get frustrated with the puzzle before completing it. This educational toy helps children practice their reasoning skills and help them understand how pieces fit into a larger picture.
• Sit on the floor with your little one. Start by helping your child put the big pieces of the puzzle into the picture. Say the name of the animal or object on the piece aloud as he/she picks them up.
• At first you may need to help your child by putting your hand on his/her hand and guiding the pieces into place.
• Soon your little one will progress to being able to place the pieces in the puzzle with verbal help from you. Give him/her some easy directions to follow, like “The tree goes here. Turn it around with the leaves pointing up to the sky." Following directions develops good listening skills in your toddler.
• Your child will start by saying the animal sounds, and then he/she will learn to recognize the names of the animals so this is a great 1 year old toy.
• With the puzzle together, you can expand your toddler's vocabulary by describing the pictures. “Yellow, hot sun."
• The pieces can be used out of the puzzle for pretend play. Maybe the animals pretend to eat the apples on the tree.
• Ask your child to make up a story about what is happening in the picture. This will work on his/her narrative skills.
