And with its convenient carrying case, it′s easy to take on the road or store away. It′s hard to find good gifts for 4 year olds, but this toy is one of the greatest!

Features and Skills

• At this age your child is beginning to learn about, and gain control, over his/her emotions, like fear. He/she is also becoming highly imaginative and creative. These magnets let him/her use creativity to deal with some of these emotions.
• Have your little one bugs make  by mixing and matching colors, body parts. He/she can make scary ones, silly ones etc. Have him/her give a name to the emotion or try to re-create the face that goes with an emotion you name.
• You can make a spinner with each body part as a possible spin. Then play a build a bug game with your child; each player has to spin to get the next piece to add to the character.
• At around four years of age, your child may begin to draw recognizable pictures. Have him/her practice drawing faces on the faces of the different bugs expressing different emotions. If your preschooler needs some hints he/she can copy one of the bugs from the magnet board.
• As far as learning toys go, Build a Bug allows you to help develop your child's narrative skills by asking him/her to create a story using the bugs as the characters.
