Features and Skills

• As your child grows, he/she moves from only using his/her hands to accomplish a task to being able to use tools. You may have noticed this at the dinner table as he/she moved from finger food to properly using a fork or spoon. Children at this age have developed the hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to control these tools well.
• At first your child will drill the screws into the board at random. They may not use the pages at all.
• Soon, your preschooler will begin to use the enclosed pages to create patterns with the screws of different colors. This improves his/her ability to recognize patterns and think critically.
• After your little one has completed the enclosed pictures several times, he/she may begin to bore of the game. You can suggest that he/she create his/her own pictures on pages to drill into the board. This takes planning and uses a childs sequencing skills.
• The Design and Drill can also enhance your childs social skills and ability to collaborate. Invite over some friends and take turns putting in one screw at a time. It takes a fast thinker and great imagination to come up with something new when the design keeps changing. See what picture unfolds!
