Edutile Blocks are great toddler toys because they are soft, durable and washable. They are a great way for your child to learn his/her letters while playing on top of them. The versatility of this toy also encourages your child to be creative!
Features and Skills
- In its simplest form these Edutile ABC tiles combine to make a play mat for your little one to play on the floor. You can attach the pieces together in any number of shapes.
- To begin leave the letters in the tile pieces and have your child practice his/her letter recognition by jumping on the tile that has the letter you call out.
- Then, take all the letters out of the tiles. Ask your little one to hand you the tiles of a certain color, such as the blue tile, to practice color recognition.
- You can make a pattern by connecting the tiles of different colors together and ask your child which color tile would go next in the pattern, red, blue, red, blue, then red would go next.
- Use the tiles for early spelling. Sound the letters out for your child. You can use the letters to spell easy three letter words, or your toddler's name.
- Have the child practice associating the sound a letter makes with an object. A is for Apple. You can even add another toy set, such as pretend food, and have your little one try to pair the food with the letter that begins the word. For example, A is for Apple, B is for Banana, I is for Ice Cream.
- As your toddler grows tired of the flat tiles, he/she can practice building three-dimensional cubes with the pieces. Can he/she crawl through the tunnel?
