  These are great for little kids. I wouldn't recommend buying them for your 6 year old because they are geared more towards younger children. There great for when the kids want to play hide and seek or are running around the house. They weren't expensive and my kids enjoyed them.

  Easy to use; durable
  Got these for my boys to share (3.5 & 1.5 years). The little guy's walkie talkie got dunked in some water (not his fault), but some disassembly and a hair dryer got it working good as new again. The big button and knob with a single frequency make it easy for the little ones to use. A great set.
