We love it because this hand puppet allows a child (and parents) to use their imagination and their hand "power" to play. It is a great toy to use to interact with an adult or another child, therefore working on social skills at the same time. And by the way, the attention to detail in this puppet, along with it′s ′natural′ movement make it really, really, real. It is the BEST puppet we have ever seen.
Features and Skills
- At first your child may rather see an adult put his/her hand in the puppet. Play gorilla for your little one and have your child feed the gorilla pretend bananas.
- Show your child how to put the Small Gorilla on his/her hand. Explain to them how to make monkey sounds and move like a monkey, scratching his fur, walking on all fours.
- You can use the gorilla to teach your pre-schooler about the jungle environment. Is it warm where gorillas live? Do they live on a mountain under trees? How fast can they move?
- Take out a book from your local library about gorillas and read it together. Your child can act out the book as you read.
- As far as learning toys go, gorillas are social creatures, what a great way to promote social skills in your little one. Have two children play together taking turns wearing the gorilla.
- Soon your child’s creativity will explode when new stuffed animals are introduced and different play scenes can be created.
