Features and Skills
- Money is something that children see used nearly every day in the adult world, but they don't get to interact with it. This >Cash Register toddler toy is a great way to introduce your child to the concept of money and how it is used.
- At first sit with your child and count how many buttons and beads there are on the register. Name the colors of each button as you push it down.
- Ask your little one to point to the color bead that matches the button you are pushing.
- Practice pre-math skills with your toddler as he/she count the money in the register.
- Add food to play grocery or restaurant with your little one. You can take turns being the cashier. Use the phrases your child hears in the real world at a store, like "May I help you," "Will that be all today," or "Thank you for shopping with us." This teaches your child social skills used in such situations.
- Your child can play store or restaurant with friends to improve her/his social skills. Role playing in this way teaches your child's core sense of self He/she will find out more about who he/she is and what he/she likes about roles in society.
- As your child improves his/her math skills, you can use this cash register to practice using addition and subtraction to give change. For example if he/she gives you $2 for something that costs $1 your child will learn that he/she has given one bill too many.
