Features and Skills
- This is a Counting and Shapes Floor Puzzle inside a puzzle. First your child can work on putting together the train. Each car goes together FRONT to BACK. He/she can practice calling out which piece is in front and which is behind.
- This educational toy also helps your child identify colors and shapes. Begin by helping him/her identify the circle, triangle and square. Teach your child that these shapes go “inside" the holes in the train cars and watch his/her sense of accomplishment as he/she finds the right pieces to fill in the holes in the train.
- Soon your child will be building the complete train on his/ own, which increases his/her sense of accomplishment.
- Recognition of numbers is a natural next step. Teach your child how to count to three. Your child can also learn ordinal numbers by calling out which train car is “first" “second", and “third."
- Have your child practice describing the animals on the train. Which animal corresponds to which number car?
- The challenge increases as your child learns to count to ten while pointing to the appropriate number.
