Why our Child-Experts Love It
This is one of Deanie′s favorite ride on toys!
Deanie, if you didn′t know is our resident Physical Therapist and focuses on toys great for gross motor development or ′locomotion′.
"It′s super fun, bouncy and great for balance, gross motor development, learning how to move and glide as well as steer. Because the wheels are ball-like, moving in any direction is easy and kids will quickly learn cause and effect as well - going forward, in reverse and side-to-side."
The Fropper is great gift for a 1 year old (to start). Because the Fropper has 2 seat levels, it will grow with your child. And no assembly is required for it either. We also love it because it folds to a fraction of its original size.
So if you′re looking for a gift with Wow-factor, hop on this one!
Features and Skills
- This ride on toy is lightweight and portable, so it’s a great toy to pack up for a day trip.
- The biggest challenge your child faces with a ride on toy is getting on or off the first time. First have your child march in place. Then show him how to stand on one leg and entice him to do it. Once he’s ready, place both his arms on each handle and hold Fropper steady for him as he swings his leg over. As he gets better, encourage him to do it from both sides
- Encourage your child to propel Fropper forward with his feet. Once he seems to get the hang of it, you can encourage him to try lifting his feet in the air and balance while sitting.
- To challenge him further, you can build obstacle courses for him to maneuver around to fine tune his steering skills
