Description
The Hungry Pelican will keep your baby happy while on-the-go or in the crib. There′s a rattling crab, squeaky octopus, crunchy fish and a rattling shrimp. Features and Skills
- Start by having your child play with the crab, octopus, fish and shrimp separately. Let him/her explore each animal. "Look at all the legs on the octopus! How many legs does the fish have?"
- Soon your toddler will discover all the different noises and textures the four friends of the Hungry Pelican. He/she will learn how to repeat the noises and textures they like best over and over.
- Show your little one how to put the shrimp into the pelican's mouth and watch it go into his belly. Then, have him/her repeat your actions with the other animals.
- Use words, such as "inside," every time he/she puts the food in the pelican's mouth.
- As for as learning toys go, this is a great toy to teach your child about eating healthy and where the food he/she eats goes.
- Talk to your toddler about the pelican, where he lives, why his beak is so big and what he likes to eat. Go to a library and take out a book about pelicans or other sea life, like crabs, octopi or fish.
