Sit down on the floor with your child and show him/her how to push the funnel of the tractor to start the engine and see it move. You can practice your little one's language skills by using words like GO or READY...SET GO. You can pause before you say GO and let your child fill in the last word. This teaches them anticipation. This toy is great for a 1 year old.
There are so many sounds on the Funtime Tractor. Teach your child how to make the sounds work and soon he/she will remember how to push the farmer to hear him sing, or the steering wheel to hear the horn. Your infant will be able to make the sounds he/she likes best repeat.
Practice taking the animals out and making the sounds for each. Encourage your child to imitate the sounds you are making. Then, show him/her that when you put the animals back in the right spot in the tractor they make animal noises. Pair the animal name with the sounds they make, THE COW SAYS MOO!
Teach your little one about location by taking the animals out of the educational toy tractor. Use words like IN and OUT.
Help your child develop good listening by following your directions as they play. Use descriptive words to lead your child to a particular animal. For example, FIND THE COW AND PUT HER IN THE TRACTOR. You can increase your child's memory skills by adding more directions and more animals, like FIND THE COW AND PIG.
