Features and Skills

• With the stacking & sorting frogs your child will learn to sort the pieces by color and shape. First, take all the shapes off the board. Put them in a pile on the floor and begin by sorting them into groups by color. Show your child that there are many different shapes of one color.
• Then sit with your little one and put the frogs on the pegs. At first your child may not put the frogs in the right spot. You can explain to him/her that you need to match the pieces to the colors on the pegs.
• As your child places the frogs on the correct color peg tell him/her the name of the color and shape he/she is holding.
• Next, count the number of pegs and the number of shapes on each peg. This will begin to develop your child's pre-math skills.
• Your child can also sort the pieces by grouping all of the shapes together, regardless of their color.
• You can also help your little one learn to follow directions by guiding him/her while he/she plays. Tell him/her to put the yellow circle on the yellow peg. Or play a game, for example, ask your child to put all of the triangles on the green peg, etc. This educational toy improves your child's listening and reasoning skills.
