This is one of our FAVORITE toys! The Counting Fun Fruit Bowl is one of the best toys for three year olds out there because it is a fun way for your child to start to learn about adding and subtracting using fruit. It′s also great for sparking your little ones imagination through prtend play! It′s hard to find good gifts for 3 year olds, but this toy is one of the best!
Features and Skills
- First, he/she will just play with the fruit like it was an ordinary pretend food but these fruit pieces are anything but ordinary.
- Show them how the fruit comes apart and you can see that each section of fruit has a number on it. Those numbers are going to help learn number sense, number recognition, counting and relationships.
- Start with the easy one – number recognition. When you pull apart the apple ask him/her what number is on each section of the apple. This will just reinforce what they already know.
- Next, go to counting. This is also to reinforce what they know about counting. How many slices are in the apple, orange etc.
- Make up a game to play with the fruit to just reinforce the concepts they are learning.
