    I have this to my 2 year old grandson who carried around the butterflies and loved taking them apart, had a bit of trouble putting them back together but his 4 year old brother helped with that and they both loved them!

  • Open the bucket for your toddler and let him/her dump the butterfly pieces on the floor. Your child will develop his/her hand-eye coordination by picking up all the butterfly pieces and putting them back in the bucket.

  • Show your child how two objects can be combined to make something different. Take apart all the butterfly pieces and snap them back together in different color combinations. Let your child explore how this configuration is different from the other butterflies.

  • Practice snapping more pieces together to make a different color combinations.

  • Take this opportunity to also go over colors with your toddler. Ask them to pick out the red pieces. See how they follow directions by asking them to start with the red head, then a green piece etc.
