Why Our Experts Love It

It scans, talks, bings, keeps track of how much money is put into the change-door, and so much more.

This cash register is an unbelievable, high-quality, multi-faceted toy that teaches your child all about the different types of money and how to make change (addition and subtraction). It also has different pre-programmed educational games. WE LOVE IT.

Warning: The kids will open up their own cafe and charge you $5 for a cup of coffee. Ahhh, inflation!
  • Money is something that children see used nearly every day in the adult world, but they don’t get to interact with it. This teaching cash register is a great way to introduce your child to the concept of money and how it is used.
  •  Your child will begin by exploring the toy, pushing the buttons, using the credit card scanner, putting the money in and talking it out of the register. This will improve their hand-eye coordination as they hear the sounds and talking of the register.
  •  Practice pre-math skills with your toddler as the count the money in the register. Ask him/her to group the money according to its value, by matching numbers on the bills, and to differentiate between coins and bills.
  • Show your child how to add up how many of each kind of bill he/she has. At first your preschooler will count each bill as one. You can explain to him/her that although the bills look similar, they have very different values. Separate five one dollar bills and demonstrate that those five are the same as one five dollar bill.
  • Add food to play grocery or restaurant with your little one. You can take turns being the cashier. Use the phrases your child hears in the real world at a store, like “May I help you,” “Will that be all today,” or “Thank you for shopping with us.” This teaches your child social skills used in such situations.
  • You can also use real grocery items with price tags in the pretend “store.” This will begin to show your child what real food costs.
  • Your child can play store or restaurant with friends to improve her/his social skills. Role playing in this way teaches your child’s core sense of himself/herself. He/she will find out more about who they are and what they like about roles in society.
  • As your child improves his/her math skills, you can use this cash register to practice using addition and subtraction to give change. There are also four different math games included with this cash register.
  • As your child grows, you can also use the built-in scale to teach him/her the concept of weight measures.
