Features and Skills

• Make your own Frames is a great learning toy that makes your Picasso's scribbles more than just art for art's sake. Your child makes handmade frames to put around the house or give away as gifts.
• Taking turns is a skill your child will need in the future, especially as he/she moves toward school age. Encourage your little one to share these frames and art supplies with a friend.
• Your preschooler can even use his/her other favorite art supplies to enhance the cards. So break out the markers, crayons, glitter and glue.
• You can use this activity as part of a play date or birthday party.
• As your child decorates the frames with friends, take pictures of the children. Then theyll instantly have pictures to put in the frames instead of sorting through old pictures.
• You can play a sequencing game with your child to help him/her learn beginning, middle and end. Take photographs of your little one during each step of the frame-making process. When the pictures are delivered you can ask your preschooler to put the pictures in sequence and describe what they did. This will develop your child's sequencing and narrative skills.
