My Wonderous Wedge receives our seal of approval because its so versatile! It can be placed on the side of the crib or used to encourage tummy time (even though babies and moms are not fans of the mandatory tummy time).
We also love that it′s a super soft plush for baby′s delicate (but developing!) hands.
Features and Skills
- Sit on the floor with your baby and show him/her that the Wonderous Wedge is made up of plastic rings, a mirror, crinkly paper shapes, and a rattle ball. Babies first learn how each element of the toy works; then, after some demonstration from you, they will learn how to utilize each element.
- Your child will learn object permanence by watching you push the plastic rings along the 2 flexible plastic arches with a plush flower. You can teach your child the word "flower" and the action of "back and forth" by repeating these words as you play.
- Have your little one examine themselves in the mirror. Ask them who it is in the mirror. This familiarizes your baby with his/her own reflection and the magic of mirrors.
- Show your baby that the mesh pouch can be used to hold things. Keep repeating the action until he/she is able to recognize the action and place things in the pouch himself/herself.
