Features and Skills

• At first play with your child without the track of Figure 8 train set. Take the trains and practice moving them around. They can move in and out of the tunnel.   
• Then your child will move on to playing with the tracks. This is a great first train set for your little one, because children can quickly learn how to put together the tracks. Your toddler will learn how to problem-solve if the track doesn't connect. He/she will figure out how to put the pieces together.
• Build the track with your child in different configurations and show him/her how one train car moves around this toddler toy.
• Connect more than one train car together and move that around the corners of the track.
• Show your little one how the train moves differently around different shapes and configurations of track. Soon your child can combine this track with other train sets.
• You can suggest that your child use other toys from around the house to elaborate on the scene. Add toy figures and set up a train station complete with a ticket booth and a train schedule. Did Teddy Bear miss his train today?
• Sit with your child and draw or cut-out scenes from magazines. Glue the pictures on cardboard backs and stand them up around the track. You can expand your child's vocabulary as the train passes by pictures of far away places like Paris, or maybe even the jungle!
