  • First, have him/her pick out their favorite picture to color – maybe it’s the unicorn or the car.  You can talk more about the picture she picked to reinforce her knowledge about that particular thing.
  • While he/she is coloring take this opportunity to talk about the colors being used and why – if he/she is using blue for the water ask her why they are using that color
  • Next, when the picture is done ask him/her to tell you a story about the picture they just colored in to get his/her imagination flowing.
