Features and Skills
- See & Spell is a fantastic educational toy. This toy is a simple puzzle at first, but as your little one becomes more adept at language it will help him/her on the road to reading. In the beginning your child will match the letters in the puzzle spaces to spell the words. As they complete the word, reinforce the sounds by asking them to slowly repeat the name of the picture they see next to the word. For example, letter c - letter a - letter r spells car.
- Have your child practice repeating the sound associated with the letters as they put them into the puzzle spaces. This will develop his/her ability to associate a letter with its sound.
- Play a creative game with the puzzle pieces. Put the letters in a brown paper bag and have your child take turns with a friend closing their eyes and picking out a letters. Then, give each child four word boards. Using the letters they picked from the bag, see who can spell their words first.
- As your preschooler becomes a better speller, challenge him/her by not showing him/her the word boards first. Have your child practice spelling the words on his/her own and then checking the spelling by looking at the word board.
