This Stack & Sort Board is a simple, durable shape sorter to teach your child shapes, colors, numbers (and counting) and grouping.

One thing to keep in mind - the kids do not have to always play by the rules. Putting ′green′ with ′yellow′ or ′circles′ with ′squares′ is ok. Or you can even do the toy ′wrong′ and help your little one fix it. We don′t have to ′color within the lines′ all the time.

Also, the pieces are perfectly sized for small hands to grasp and stack!

Features and Skills

• With the Stack & Sort Board your child will learn to sort the pieces by color and shape. First, take all the shapes off the board. Put them in a pile on the floor and begin by sorting them into groups by color.
• Then sit with your little one and put the shapes on the pegs. At first your child may not put the shapes in the right spot. You can explain to him/her that you need to match the pieces to the colors on the pegs.
• As your child places the shapes on the correct color peg tell him/her the name of the shape he/she is holding.
• Next, show your child the picture of the shape at the base of the peg. Have him/her match the shapes he/she is holding to the shape on the board. Say the color your child is working with aloud for reinforcement.
• You can also help your little one learn to follow directions by guiding him/her while he/she plays. Tell him/her to put the purple circle on the purple peg.
• Once all the pegs are in place on the pegs, practice counting the shapes with your child. Point out to him/her that there are corresponding numbers at the base of each peg. For example, there is one green rectangle in the peg with the number one. This educational toy will begin to develop your childs pre-math skills.

  Good for little hands
  This toy was a gift and I was hesitant to give it to my one year old not sure what he would do with it, surprisingly, this toy provided quality play time for him. He can't talk yet but this toy is great for conversation; there are not only shapes, colors, and numbers you can talk about but also stacking and un-stacking which is very fun if you are one!

  The stack and sort board was a great buy. It offered a lot to my child. When it came in we both sat on the floor and started stacking the pieces wherever. I then talked to him about all the different colors the pieces had and the shapes. It was awesome. We try to play with it everyday to help teach him his colors and shapes. Definitely happy with this purchase.
