Features and Skills
- This Giant Floor Puzzle is a great first puzzle for your toddler because the pieces are large and easy to handle. With only 24 pieces, this educational toy helps children practice their reasoning skills and help them understand how pieces fit into a larger picture.
- Sit on the floor with your little one. Start by helping your child put the big pieces of the puzzle into the picture. Say the name of the animal or object on the piece aloud as he/she picks them up.
- At first you may need to help your child by putting your hand on his/her hand and guiding the pieces into place.
- Soon your little one will progress to being able to place the pieces in the puzzle with verbal help from you. Give him/her some easy directions to follow, like “This piece matches this other piece." Following directions helps to develop good listening skills.
- Ask your child to make up a story about what is happening in the picture. This will work on his/her narrative skills.
