Description
This soft padded mirror can be hung so that a newborn can gaze into it while lying down, or it can be attached flat against the crib rails to accommodate a sitting baby. It stands on its own outside the crib, providing tummy-time enjoyment. Your baby will love to touch and pull on the sun, bug and bird. It′s one of our most popular baby toys!
Why our Child-Experts Love It
The Sassy Me In The Mirror receives our seal of approval because its so versatile! It can be placed on the side of the crib or used to encourage tummy time. Mirrors are an important part of a baby′s self-recognition. We also love that it′s a super soft plush for baby′s delicate (but developing!) hands. It′s a fantastic baby gift.
Features and Skills
- Try hanging this Me in the Mirror mirror or in baby's crib. That way there's always a smiling face there when he/she wakes up.
- Babies love to study faces, so they love to look in mirrors. Imagine their discovery the day they make the connection that the face they see in the mirror is his/her own. Get down on the ground, at your baby's level and look into the mirror to encourage your baby to look back at you. Soon your baby will play peek-a-boo with himself/herself in the mirror and experience his/her moment of self-recognition.
- Put the mirror on the ground in front of your baby for tummy time. When your child looks up to see the face in the mirror, he/she will also be improving head control and strengthening muscles in his/her neck and arms needed for crawling.
- Turn the mirror over and he/she can discover the hidden toys.
- Encourage your child to grab the toys and teach him/herself how to place them in their correct holes.
- As your baby grows, place the mirror on the sofa so he/she can practice pulling him/herself up to standing position. Slide it a few feet down the sofa and encourage your child to cruise back and forth
- Then, place the sofa about one foot apart from another stable structure such as a coffee table and switch the mirror back and forth as your child reaches and steps to get a peek at his/herself. As your child gets stronger, gradually increase the space between the structures and soon your child will be walking!
