Why we love it
We tested lots of first sport sets, and this one is the best! The grips make it super easy for young children to grasp, catch, and throw. Out of all of the toddler toys, this one is the greatest, it will really encourage your little one to get outside and move around!
Features and Skills
- As your little one grows he/she uses his/her senses to learn about the world around him/her. Let your child feel the texture of these Fun Gripper Balls, push against it, grip it and bounce it to see how it reacts to his/her touch.
- The toddler toy set comes with three balls. You can explain to your toddler that these balls are different shapes because they belong to three different sports: soccer, football and basketball.
- At first your child may not be coordinated enough to play catch. In fact, throwing a ball is much easier than catching it in the air. Until he/she develops this hand-eye coordination, practice by first sitting on the ground and rolling the ball back and forth to each other. This will get your child used to catching the ball with his/her hands or in his/her legs, while creating a sense of bonding with you.
- Until your child feels comfortable catching the ball, you may want to try having him/her throw the ball to you and rolling it back to him/her on the floor.
- The unique texture of these balls is designed to help your child grip and catch these balls. Practice catching by starting at close range. Each time your child catches the ball at that distance, step back. Soon you will be standing and throwing the ball back and forth to each other. Now it's time for the big leagues!
- Playing with a ball can involve mental abilities as well as physical. Try standing in a circle with a few people. Tell your little one to throw the ball to whoever has their name called out loud. That way your child has to think of who to throw it to before they release the ball.
- As your little one grows up your can begin to teach him/her the basic differences between the three sports. For example, in soccer you use your feet, not your hand. In basketball you shoot the ball through the hoop. In football you pass and catch the ball to get down field.

Product Reviews
Most sites have product reviews. At ebeanstalk we do it differently. All our reviews happen BEFORE a product makes it on our site. Our team of child-experts looked at, tested and selected only the best toys. Then, they matched the toys to a child’s stage of development. Then they custom write an instruction card for each and every toy. This is the ebeanstalk review process. No other site does this; not even close. By conducting the review ahead of time, we ensure that our toys are the best and you can trust that the toys you are buying are matched to a child’s stage of development.
HOWEVER, we still want your feedback. If you'd like to tell us your impressions of a toy, please email us at feedback@ebeanstalk.com
