1 for olds in the GAMES Category
Games is one of our most popular categories and we invest a lot of time keeping it balanced for kids of all ages. We take the time to test everything and match each game to the ability of a child. We love games because they encourage how to win and lose gracefully, engage the kids in friendly competition and foster good old fashioned family time. When looking at which game to purchase, we consider these three criteria:
Parental Fun: Of course the kids have to have fun, but really we focus our games on something slightly different; we want to make sure the parents have fun too. If you get a chance, check out ZINGO it is one of the first games a young child can play where the parents have as much fun as the kids.
Age Matched: Make sure the games match. At Ebeanstalk, our experts have categorized every game to a specific age even if our recommendation is different from the manufacturer. For example, there are matching games that are for 2 and up, but when we played with them, the 2 year olds seem to get frustrated. So we put that game in a slightly older age bracket.
Quality/Durability: Little hands may be little, but they are tough on toys, and particularly games. And when pieces break or cards rip, the fun can stop. So we make sure the durability is great so the fun never ends.
Helpful Buying Hint: Because game night never goes out of style, we recommend getting a few. For the younger kids it is ZINGO and I Spy for preschoolers. For kids slightly older we love card games like Ballerina Card Game and Dinosaur Card Game. For th older kids we love the classics.
