24 for 5 Year olds in the CONSTRUCTION TOYS Category
Construction Toys is an incredibly varied and challenging category for us to make excellent. But we think we did it. Here is why we believe it is difficult. First, there are tons of construction toys out there, but the design and functionality have to be just right. Take for example, the Wud Workers Robo Racer.
He looks great, but we had to make sure that he actually worked, was challenging, had lots of ways to construct different figures and has great durability. That about sums it up.
Here is our approach to getting great Construction Toys:
Age Matched: Construction toys that do not match the abilities of a child are a complete failure. For this, we rely heavily on our occupational therapist. Occupational Therapists focus on dexterity and the small muscles of the hands. And Barbara knows her stuff.
Durability: Construction sites are a pretty rough place. And the little hands that build, create and demolish are pretty tough. It is simple; we put these construction toys through the Kid Tuff Test and any sign of wear and tear, means they are not getting on ebeanstalk.
Play Value: Toys are about options and you do not want the kid to create something one time and feel like they are done. We identify the toys that have lots of ways to build and construct to deliver a great play value.
Here are 3 of our favorite construction toys:
Deluxe Jumbo Cardboard Blocks . . . Tumble Tree 300 piece set . . . Erector Tuning Hot Racer
