514 CHILDRENS BOOKS Category
Childrens Books is one of our most popular categories and we invest a lot of time finding the best books out there. On top of Childrens Books being a popular category, it is probably our favorite. Reading never goes out of style and the power for books to unlock a kid′s imagination stays with us forever. The tricky thing is to select only great books from the sheer number of books out there. We all know it’s easy to have tons of books, but getting the guaranteed winners is the ebeanstalk difference. Childrens books are forever.
When looking at what to carry on ebeanstalk, we consider this:
Keeping an Open Mind: In the beginning, we solely focused on the classic books for children. But let’s be honest, some of the classics are out of date, sometimes boring, and even a little scarey. So we make sure to get as much input not only from our Child Experts but from our team of moms, called our Mother Board.
Well Written (and Illustrated): We were amazed at some of the Childrens Books that are published, both great and not so great. Writing a children’s book can almost be more difficult than writing for adults because when an author is forced to keep it simple, a book’s shortcomings are more evident. Therefore, we read, re-read and make sure to be critical of ever book on the site. We only want the books that will unlock a child’s imagination. A well written, beautifully illustrated book stays with kids forever.
Age Appropriateness: “Good for All Ages” is not good enough for us. We make sure the books match the child’s age. At Ebeanstalk, our experts have categorized and matched every book to a specific age even if our recommendation is different from the manufacturer. It′s no fun getting a book that is too advanced or too junior for a child.
