Butterfly Garden

Description
The Butterfly Garden, with Certificate, includes a colorful pop-up habitat, pre-paid certificate for three to five butterfly larvae with special food (from Insect Lore), feeding kit and complete instructions. Watch the caterpillar′s transition as it matures, changes into a chrysalis, and finally emerges as a Painted Lady butterfly three weeks later. After observing your butterflies, experience the joy of releasing them into your backyard which makes it a great educational toy!
Why we love it
The Butterfly Garden is great for a 4 year old because it is a unique and fascinating way for a child to learn about nature, firsthand. Your child will witness each stage, from cocoon, to caterpillar, to butterfly. He/she will love watching the changes and enjoy releasing the butterfly into the backyard when its metamorphosis is complete.
Features and Skills
- This educational toddler toy is a great way to interest your child in the world of science and nature. The Butterfly Garden and Pavilion come with a certificate to send away for five live caterpillars and food.
- Together, choose a place for your caterpillars to live. Put the caterpillars and the food in the garden or pavilion and wait for them to turn into butterflies. Explain to your preschooler that a caterpillar eats and eats to get lots of energy, then it makes a cocoon and when it comes out, it's a butterfly!
- When it turns into a butterfly have your child remember the process and explain to you what happened to the caterpillar. At first your child may find it alarming that the caterpillar is no longer there. Remind him/her that it really is still there, just as a butterfly instead.
- You can have a bonding moment with your child as you go outside and release the butterflies into nature again. He/she may be sad to see his/her pet go, but you can use this opportunity to teach your child to respect nature. The butterfly would probably be happier flying around inn the garden than being cooped up in the container, right?

Product Reviews
Most sites have product reviews. At ebeanstalk we do it differently. All our reviews happen BEFORE a product makes it on our site. Our team of child-experts looked at, tested and selected only the best toys. Then, they matched the toys to a child’s stage of development. Then they custom write an instruction card for each and every toy. This is the ebeanstalk review process. No other site does this; not even close. By conducting the review ahead of time, we ensure that our toys are the best and you can trust that the toys you are buying are matched to a child’s stage of development.
HOWEVER, we still want your feedback. If you'd like to tell us your impressions of a toy, please email us at feedback@ebeanstalk.com
